ABOUT THE EVENING

Our evening will begin with a brief talk from Jamie Wheal (via live video) about the JHU study, based on an evolution of the holotropic form of breathwork developed by Dr. Grof.

Stanislav Grof, M.D., coined the term HOLOTROPIC, meaning "moving towards wholeness" to reference expanded states of consciousness, which provide (often profound) self-healing.

Our 8 guides will lead participants of their circle throughout our ritual ceremony and post integration.

We’ll experience a short breathwork session to prepare us for a potent Sound Journey + Medicine (CBD) Ceremony. Guided by Leo and Cypress of The Sonic Shamanic, featuring an uncommon range of instrumentation, drum, flute, saxophone, singing bowls, mantra, world and shamanic instruments with Cypress Dubin’s transporting vocals.

You can expect an energetic clearing of body and mind, as the powerful combination of sound and medicine transports you beyond everyday chatter and stress, anxiety and fear.

Post-ceremony, we will have 20 – 30 minutes of sharing and other forms of journey integration. After that, we'll have snacks and a DJ providing ethereal sounds for lounging and dancing pleasure.

ABOUT THE STUDY

Johns Hopkins University with support from Psykia Institute & the Flow Genome Project is Testing the Efficacy of Breathwork in Treating Veterans with PTSD.  As research exploring the promise and potency of psychedelic medicine progresses, imagine if breathwork alone could deliver similar healing effects. Millenia of traditional experience, and decades of modern anecdotal reports suggest it might.

This landmark study will be the first of its kind to attempt to validate breathwork through a scientific lens. Read more here: https://www.psykia.org/jhu-breathwork-research

As Phase 1: Protocol Development of the study (funded by a successful $30k Crowdrise campaign) is nearing completion.

TIX: $50 - $150 suggested donation — Profits from the evening will go to fund Phase 2 of the JHU Study
